Living with Nature Part 2: Dark Skies (Cutchogue)

The East End of Long Island is beautiful during the day, but there are even more hidden gems after sunset! Come to the Downs Farm Visitor Center to learn about light pollution, nocturnal animals, and how to set up “dark sky” lighting for your home. These lighting techniques will prevent you from disrupting nocturnal animals who live nearby and dramatically decrease your personal contribution to light pollution. After the short information session, we will venture outdoors to go stargazing and hopefully hear some owls or even see an opossum! Free event. For reservations or more information, please contact Christine Tylee at ctylee@eastendenvironment.org.
