Horseshoe Crab Monitoring

Volunteer with the Group!
Are you a night owl who has a love for science? We have just the thing- participate in GFEE horseshoe crab citizen science project at South Harbor Beach in Southold! We are seeking dedicated volunteers that will assist our Site Coordinator in counting and tagging spawning horseshoe crabs and recording data according to protocols. Spawning occurs from May to late June, during high tide on the new and full moon. **Participants should bring headlight/flashlight and wear waterproof boots and/or waders.

If you are interested in participating in this unique citizen science program, please contact Christine Tylee for more information – ctylee@eastendenvironment.org 631-765-6450 x208
