Join us at the Nature Center for full moon hikes, talks about turtles, and family scavenger hunts. Have young children? They’ll enjoy our monthly, nature-themed Storytime, whether in the rustic one-room schoolhouse or outside on the beautiful grounds. Want to know how to compost? Or maybe you’d like to participate in a bird feeder watch study…that’s really cool. There are plenty of community service opportunities and we welcome you to participate in any of our citizen science projects. The Group offers these and many other programs through a unique collaboration with the Town of Southold.
A National Historic Landmark, the preserve has 51 acres of scenic woodlands and tidal wetlands. It is also the site of the Native American Fort Corchaug and serves as a rich, valuable habitat for birds and other wildlife.
Hours: Trails are open every day at no charge. The Nature Center (with bathrooms!) is open during program hours only.
