Pine Barrens Hike to Find the Elusive Buck Moth
Sunday, October 13
10:00 am - 11:30 am
This hike through the globally endangered dwarf Pine Barrens will fulfill the soul of the wanderlust while hopefully bearing witness to one of the East End’s most endangered wildlife – the Pine Barrens Buck Moth. We will meet at the Westhampton train station and begin a 1.5-mile hike through the Pine Barrens, often times forgetting we are on Long Island. Some of the birds we may encounter are Pine Warbler, Eastern Towhee, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Golden-crowned Kinglet and many others. For reservations or more information, please contact Aaron Virgin at 631-765-6450 ext. 218 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
