STRAWS Screening: A Documentary for a Sea of Change
It’s estimated every day 500 million+ plastic straws are used once and tossed in the U.S. alone. Find out how you can help reduce this number by joining Surfrider Foundation, Group for the East End, and Atlantic Marine Conservation Society for the screening of the award-winning documentary STRAWS. Be a part of our Strawless Summer 2018 movement! Q&A to follow.

- Mummichogs and Mud Crabs [Orient]
Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 10 a.m. to noon
Mummichogs and Black-Fingered Mud Crabs are two of the many kinds of animals we plan to capture on this exciting visit to Orient Beach State Park. Join us for an exhilarating time as we wade with seines and dip nets in search of a great variety of fish, crabs, shrimp, mollusks, and other small creatures of the estuary. We will closely observe each of the animals we catch, before gently releasing them back to their aquatic homes. Families are encouraged to come along for this fun and educational event. Participants are recommended to wear water shoes while wading. For reservations or more information, please contact Steve Biasetti at 631-765-6450 ext. 205 or email@example.com.
